Citizens and public were properly informed about its existence. Up till now , we provide accommodation to 30 victims of domestic violence. GAP project which financed and supported sustainability of the Safe House , lasted until 28.04/06 , thus , we are now in very difficult situation as number of victims of domestic violence is increasing every day. In addition, we are witnessing homicide of women , namely on 8.05 2006 the women in our town was brutally killed by axe. There are 12 victims as such.We addressed Mayors of all municipalities in our Canton to help us. Nevertheless, all of them gave us only a moral support , except the Bihac Mayor Mr. Hamdija Lipovaca who ensured fairly small amount for this year which is 5000 KM that have been paid on the Safe House account on 10.04 2006. Also, it has to be mentioned that Cantonal Government just recently responded to our appeal and approved 6700 KM that would satisfy basic needs for food , electricity , wood and fuel. Yet, we have to point out our permanent donators , without whose assistance the Safe House and its tenants / victims could not carry on : 1. DOO “ Meglle “ Bihac with dairy products every month 2. DOO “ Tehnopek” Bihac with their products (flour , sugar , salt , oil) 3. DOO” Selekta” Bihac products for hygiene , every month 4. Mr. Tomo Turkalj TV services , making brochures 5. Mr. Vinko Pavic , maintenance and fixing of computers 6. Mr. Adem Salihagic 7. Mr. Djemal Haracic 8. Mr. Mehmed Felic , printing services 9. Una / Sana forests 10. Ministry of agriculture ,USK Government , donated 20 different fruit seedlings, that we planted around Safe House. Since the House has a big backyard ,we financed purchase of various seeds which we planted for the House purpose ; potato , onion , carrot, parsley, bean, green peas, corn and other vegetable. Alongside everyday problems regarding accommodation , transport of victims , the greatest problem that hamper our work is the car which is very often out of order. Therefore, we would be very grateful if someone provide us with a car. Also, victims of domestic violence who sometimes came to us in extremely difficult health condition , who need to be transported firstly to the hospital , then to the Safe House, which is 8 Km away from Bihac , would really appreciate car donation. We would like to point out that Cantonal MUP Bihac provides a great assistance to us. Furthermore , we have a very good co-operation with the Center for Social Work and together with them we concluded four marriages and victims returned to their homes. In conclusion , the utmost need for the Safe House is a car which is indispensable for transport of victims and satisfaction of their needs. Currently , we use 15 years old car which spends a lot on fuel and spare parts. As we can not afford it , we would be thankful to somebody who will donate even used car. Without a car , work of the Safe House will be blocked.
